I learned to read before I was four years old. I LOVE books and if it has words on it—and sits still long enough—I’ll read it! I am a full-time editor, which allows me to minimize waiting times and provide a fast turn-around time. I am delighted to be involved with the writing community at a time when authors have so many opportunities and options for publishing their work.
In the late ’80s and early ’90s I worked at an advertising and printing company – copywriting, copy-editing, and proofreading – starting out as an assistant and working my way up to Department Head – Proofing & Quality Control.
After my son was born I became a stay-at-home mom doing a variety of odd jobs to help supplement our income. Along with the mundane (babysitting) and the unusual (hand-raising birds), I also did freelance graphic design and was involved in various editing capacities of several newsletters. During this time, I also took college courses in animal sciences and a two-year writing course, and for ten years owned a business making handmade jewellery.
Once my son was grown up and on his own (several years ago now), I returned to my love of words and started a new business doing freelance editing. In addition to full-time editing, I currently work a few hours a week as bookkeeper for my mother’s art gallery. To relax, I like to make chainmaille jewellery, knit (yes, the sweater in the top picture was made by me 🙂 ), watch movies and, of course, read.
Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful day!
